World Sledge Hockey Challenge takes over Charlottetown
P.E.I. native Billy Bridges will be suiting up for Team Canada yet again this weekend as the 2017 World Sledge Hockey Challenge makes its way to a Charlottetown on December 3rd.
Bridges began playing sledge hockey in 1997 at the age of 12. Two years later he was selected to Canada’s national sledge hockey team, becoming the youngest player to ever be picked.

Along with being the highest scoring player in the history of sledge hockey, leading every major category, Bridges also has one of the hardest shots in the game, with his slap shot registering at over 80 mph.
Starting this Sunday, the best sledge hockey players in the world will be vying for gold as reigning World Champions, Team Canada, take on the USA, Italy and Korea at the Bell Aliant Centre from December 3 to 9.
