Islanders prepared for last home game of 2017

Pascal vs AB titanThere is no time to rest for the Islanders, as they are thrust right back into action on Friday at home against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.  The Titan hold a record of 19-9-6-2, good for 46 points, placing them just one point back of the Maritime Division leading Halifax Mooseheads.  The Islanders have taken all four matchups this season after taking eight of nine last season from the Titan.

The Titan offence has been among the QMJHL’s best all season long, currently ranking 4th in the league with 123 goals scored.

The defensive pairing of Summerside native Noah Dobson and 20-year-old Adam Holwell has provided more than their fair share of offence this season. Dobson’s 28 assists lead all defensemen and his 32 points ranks the Summerside, P.E.I native 3rd in defensemen scoring.  Holwell’s 8 goals and 30 points rank him 5th best in both categories for QMJHL defensemen.

The Titan have also managed to allow the 6th fewest goals against this season, allowing on 100 goals against so far this season.  Goaltender Reilly Pickard has owned the net for his team this season, starting 26 of a potential 35 games this season. Pickard sits 5th in the QMJHL in GAA, allowing 2.62 goals against per-game this season.

With a day off on Saturday the Islanders and Titan square off again on Sunday at 1pm for a matinee matchup in Bathurst.  The game marks the last game of 2017 for both teams, with either side looking to take the win and get a running start into 2018.

There are only 18 regular season home games remaining on the schedule so lets show Hulton’s Hustler’s what it’s like to play playoff style hockey in front of a great crowd.
