Chlapik Invited to Training Camp for Czech World Junior Team

Charlottetown Islanders forward Filip Chlapik has been invited to training camp for the Czech Republic Men’s Under-20 team that will compete at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

The 17-year-old from Praha, Czech Republic, leads the Islanders in scoring with 36 points (14 goals and 22 assists) in 30 games.

Chlapik has represented the Czech Republic on several occasions, most recently at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. He had one goals and four points in five games, helping his team to a silver medal. 

The Czech Republic Men’s Under-20 training camp begins December 12th.

The 2015 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship begins December 26th, 2014, in Toronto and Montreal.
