The Charlottetown Islanders are pleased to announce that they have agreed to terms with OHL forward William Sirman.
Sirman is a 5’10, 175-pound versatile forward originally from Kingston, Ontario. He has played in 2 games so far this season with the Ottawa 67’s. Last season with the Windsor Spitfires, Sirman scored 6 goals and added 13 assists for 19 points in 66 games.
“I’m really, really excited.” Said Sirman of joining the Islanders. “I’ve lived on the East Coast before, and I’m really excited to be back. I’m hoping for a great opportunity here.”
Sirman was originally drafted in the 14th round, 263rd overall, by the Spitfires in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection. Sirman characterizes himself as a gritty player with some offensive potential.
“I’ll be all over the other team with speed and physicality.” Said Sirman. “I play 200-foot hockey but also try to chip in on the offensive side as well.”
“Will Sirman is a player that we think will fit the definition of an Islander.” Said associate coach and assistant GM Guy Girouard. “He brings a tremendous work ethic to the rink everyday and is a very responsible hockey player.”
Sirman will be in action with his new team for the first time this week as the Charlottetown Islanders take on the Halifax Mooseheads at home Thursday October 11th, and Sunday October 14th against the Saint John Sea Dogs.
