Islanders look to keep season alive in Game 6

Your Islanders are looking to keep their season alive as they look to force a Game 7 with a win tonight on home ice at 7PM.

After winning two straight games at home the Islanders pulled into Blainville-Boisbriand on Friday looking to take their first lead of the series.

Unfortunately for the Islanders the game did not go as planned as despite contributions from Derek Gentile and Cameron Askew and a 42 save effort from goaltender Matthew Welsh the Islanders would fall, 3-2, forcing a do-or-die situation at home on Sunday night.

The Islanders will receive a little added boost on Sunday as the EastLink Centre will be at capacity with a sold-out crowd in attendance to cheer on their hometown Islanders.

Leading the way offensively for the Armada has been Ottawa Senators prospect, Drake Batherson. Batherson leads the 2018 QMJHL Playoffs in scoring, notching nine goals and a league leading 15 assists and 24 points.

For the Islanders, Derek Gentile has scored in five of his last six games, including three goals and five points over his past three games. Gentile is tied for second on the Islanders in scoring, trailing only Nikita Alexandrov (15) and Daniel Hardie (15), owning eight goals and six assists in 16 games.

You can follow the action live with Fair Isle Ford Isles Radio and Ocean 100 with George Matthews and Cory Arsenault beginning at 6:50PM AST.
