Islanders look to take series lead in Blainville

With back-to-back wins at home, the Charlottetown Islanders have battled back to tie President Cup semi-finals with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

After dropping the first two games of the series on the road the Islanders returned to the EastLink Centre in Charlottetown with a big task ahead of them. But the Islanders were up to the challenge, winning two straight games in overtime to even the series as the teams enter Game 5 tonight (Friday, April 27th).

Leading the way offensively for the Armada has been Ottawa Senators prospect, Drake Batherson. With four points in his last four games, including a two-point night on Wednesday, Batherson now leads the league in playoff assists and scoring, with his 14 helpers and 22 points atop the QMJHL standings.

For the Islanders, Derek Gentile has been on a roll as of late, recording two goals and four points in games 3 and 4 at home, now giving the 18-year-old 13 points in 15 playoff games this post-season.

With the momentum on their side the Islanders pull into Centre d’Excellence Sports Rousseau in Boisbriand looking to continue their recent success and take their first lead of the series.
