Teddy Bear Toss set for December 9th

The Holiday season is here and the Charlottetown Islanders are teaming up with the Child and Family Services of P.E.I. and the Charlottetown Police Department for the annual Teddy Bear Toss game taking place on Sunday, December 9th against the Halifax Mooseheads.

Fans are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game and send them flying to the ice after the first Islanders goal.

After they are collected, the bears will be split between the Child and Family Services of P.E.I. and the Charlottetown Police Department and distributed across the Island.

“The Teddy Bear Toss has become a staple event of the Charlottetown Islanders regular season schedule” said President of Operations Craig Foster. “There are families across the Island that are in need at this time of year, and these stuffed animals go a long way.”

“This is just one of many initiatives that we’re thrilled to take on to help our community during the holiday season.”

The Teddy Bear Toss coincides with the final Family Day of the 2018 calendar year. Youth 12 and under will be free with the purchase of an adult ticket. There will be inflatables set up in the Trade Centre portion of the Eastlink Centre, and an autograph session with the players immediately following the game.

Want to help out the cause? The Team Shop will have stuffed Sly dolls available for sale for just $10!

Tickets for Sunday’s game are available to purchase in person at the Eastlink Centre Box Office, by phone at (902) 629-6625, or online at https://boxoffice.eastlinkcentrepei.com. We can’t wait to see you in attendance and fill the ice with teddies!
