Voltigeurs Down Rocket

Bryce Milson’s second period goal turned out to be eventual game-winner as the Drummondville Voltigeurs topped the P.E.I. Rocket 5-1 Tuesday night in Drummondville.

The loss drops the Rocket to a 13-10-2-0 season record.

Milson and Jeremie Malouin led the charge for the Voltigeurs (15-12) with two goals each. Louick Marcotte had the lone goal for the Rocket.

The Volts opened the scoring in the first period with a goal from Milson at 1:49. Marcotte responded for the Rocket to tie the game at 10:26 with a shorthanded goal. Nathan Yetman drew the assist.

In the second period, Milson added his second of the game at 10:27 to put the hometown Voltigeurs up 2-1. Jordan Murray made it 3-1 with a powerplay goal at 17:07.

Malouin scored at 12:46 and 18:35 (empty net) respectively in the third period to give the Voltigeurs a 5-1 edge.

Rocket netminder Antoine Bibeau made 25 saves in the loss.

Louis-Philip Guindon made 22 saves in the win for Drummondville.

The Rocket continues its two-game road-trip tomorrow in Quebec City when it faces Patrick Roy’s Remparts. Game time is 8 p.m. The Rocket returns home Saturday night to battle the Victoriaville Tigres at 7 p.m, followed by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles coming to town Sunday afternoon at 3pm.  The Rocket are holding special Christmas celebrations at both games on the weekend and good crowds are expected for the special festivities.
