Academic Player of the Month – March

The Charlottetown Islanders organization takes the utmost pride in developing it’s players both on and off the ice. Our organization is committed to helping our players achieve academic excellence throughout their time as an Islander under the guidance of an extensive academic advisement team. Each month, all Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams recognize a player for their efforts in the classroom and designate them the team’s Academic Player of the Month. For March, Charlottetown’s Academic Player of the Month is Patrick Guay.

School: Ontario Virtual School
Program: High School

As is often the case when a player is traded, there is an adjustment period as the player gets used to many new things, whether it be new physical surroundings, new teammates, a new billet family, and new academic structures and supports. Since his arrival in Charlottetown Patrick has handled these adjustments in strides; he not only successfully completed his remaining Fall 2020 courses, he also has already completed one of his three Winter 2021 courses.

As of March 30th Patrick was well on his way to finishing all three Winter 2021 courses on time; he’s already received a 97% final mark in his Business Leadership course!

The Charlottetown Islanders would like to congratulate Patrick on his continued success in the classroom!
