For the past, 18 months they’ve been our front line. From delivering packages to stocking shelves, keeping us healthy and safe, to teaching us in-person and virtually.
So, to all the front-line workers the Charlottetown Islanders and the Provincial Credit Union want to say thank you.
This coming Thanksgiving Monday, we will honour front-line workers and thank them for all the sacrifices they have made for us during the pandemic. Each branch of the newly formed Provincial Credit Union along with the Charlottetown Islanders will be distributing 1100 tickets throughout their communities for the Monday, October 11th home game at 3 pm vs the Saint John Sea Dogs at no cost thanks to the Provincial Credit Union.
The tickets will go to doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other hospital staff; police, firefighters, public safety personnel and corrections workers; teachers, daycare personnel and support staff; public transit workers; grocery store and delivery workers; food and agriculture workers; and construction and manufacturing workers.
“The Charlottetown Islanders are proud to show our gratitude to the frontline workers who have inspired us by their service and sacrifice during what continues to be an extremely challenging time,” says Charlottetown Islanders President Craig Foster. “We hope the opportunity to spend a few hours at an exciting Islanders game will be a welcomed distraction for them.
“There are countless deserving heroes in our communities who have answered incredible challenges over the past 18 months, and we’re honored to be able to thank some of them in this small way”, says Bernard Gillis, CEO of Provincial Credit Union. “This opportunity allows us to show our strengthened community presence with our newly formed Provincial Credit union. It also allows us a chance to thank our own frontline workers – our credit union staff, who have gone above and beyond to serve our members during the last 18 months.”
