Islanders partner with local restaurants to show all games this season

The Charlottetown Islanders are endlessly proud to work alongside their many Island-based partners each year. As the COVID-19 pandemic has caused businesses around the world to adapt, we’ve done the same thing; with that comes a new partnership with a pair of local restaurants.

The Islanders are excited to work alongside long-standing partners Boston Pizza and The Factory Downtown to give fans a way to watch all 60 Charlottetown Islander games this season.

“The relationships that we’ve built with both Boston Pizza and The Factory Downtown over the years have been valuable ones for all involved,” said Islanders vice president of sales and marketing Jason Maclean. “Whether it’s partnering on community events, having our players volunteer as celebrity servers with donations to charity, or simply offering free product to our fans during games, these relationships are ones we want to continue to foster. As the pandemic has made things difficult for many businesses, we hope this new opportunity will help our restaurant partners while also giving our fans a new outlet to catch our games.”

The Factory Downtown began showing Islanders games last week starting with our season opener against the Moncton Wildcats, while Boston Pizza will begin carrying games starting with tomorrow night’s game against the Cape Breton Eagles. Please note that viewings at both restaurants are subject to change in the event of pre-existing bookings.

The Factory Downtown on Hunter’s Corner (affectionately dubbed “The Factory”) is one of Prince Edward Island’s newest retro pizza joints. Located on Kent Street, it offers an extensive selection of classic & signature freshly prepared artisan pizza, oven-baked subs, Halifax-style donairs, and a variety of quesadillas.

Boston Pizza is Canada’s No. 1 casual dining brand with more than 380 restaurants in Canada serving more than 100 unique and delicious menu items such as gourmet pizzas and pastas, juicy burgers and their famous BP wings. Annually, Boston Pizza serves more than 40 million guests, and in 2014 achieved system-wide sales that surpassed $1 billion. Boston Pizza has proudly been recognized as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies since 1994, achieving Platinum Member status since 2001.

Boston Pizza and the Factory Downtown will both be serving pizzas and showing all the Charlottetown Islanders action this weekend as the team takes on the Cape Breton Eagles in back-to-back games starting Friday, October 9th at 7:00pm. Can’t make it for supper? Tune in to the action live on Fair Isle Ford Isles Radio!
