Marcus Kearsey commits to Islanders

The Charlottetown Islanders announced today that Marcus Kearsey, the team’s top draft pick in the 2022 QMJHL Entry Draft, has signed a Quebec Major Junior Hockey agreement with the team.

Kearsey, a 5’09”, 160 lbs defenseman was selected with the 32nd overall selection. Last season with Rothesay Netherwood, he racked up 27 points, including 8 goals and 19 assists in 39 games.

“My excitement level is through the roof right now. I’m super excited, and I’m also relieved that it’s done and I can now just focus on camp and getting ready for the season. It’s a dream come true to be able to sign and put that pen to paper.”

Islanders Head Coach and General Manager Jim Hulton commented, “Marcus is your prototypical modern defenceman, a fantastic skater with high offensive vision. We’re thrilled to have him commit to the Islanders. He’s the exact type of player we want in our organization.”

Tickets for the three home preseason games are available to purchase online and in-person at the Islanders Team Shop in the Eastlink Centre.

2022-23 Season Tickets, 15-Game Packs, and Flex-40 ticket packages are now on sale at the Islanders Team Shop online, in-person, or by phone at 902.892.7351.
