Marcus Kearsey commits to Islanders

The Charlottetown Islanders announced today that Marcus Kearsey, the team’s top draft pick in the 2022 QMJHL Entry Draft, has signed a Quebec Major Junior Hockey agreement with the team.

Kearsey, a 5’09”, 160 lbs defenseman was selected with the 32nd overall selection. Last season with Rothesay Netherwood, he racked up 27 points, including 8 goals and 19 assists in 39 games.

“My excitement level is through the roof right now. I’m super excited, and I’m also relieved that it’s done and I can now just focus on camp and getting ready for the season. It’s a dream come true to be able to sign and put that pen to paper.”
